The waiting is the hardest part

As the old Tom Petty song says, what's really hard about being on this train is the waiting. Because PC is typically a very slow growing cancer, and because any number of things can cause PSA to rise and because you have to give PSA levels a chance to "normalize" after taking antibiotics to cure an infection, you wait. 30 days from the time infection is diagnosed to cure it via amoxicillin, 30 days after the infection is gone to get the PSA retested. All of this means you have AMPLE time to worry. Ample time to read about treatment options and the accompanying life altering side effects. Ample time to play "what if" in your head. I'm pretty good at dealing with what I know; I'm not very good at dealing with the unknown.
